In July 2002, the Rice Lake Association and the Koronis Lake Associations conducted a Visioning Session, in which over 200 people attended. A survey was taken to determine the issues and concerns of people living around these two lakes. The results of that survey can be viewed by clicking here.

In 2003, as a result of concerns about declining water quality in the two lakes, Rice and Koronis Lake Associations partnered with the Stearns County Soil and Water Conservation District to develop a Lake Management Plan. This plan was sponsored by the Healthy Lakes program through the Initiative Foundation in Little Falls, Minnesota. Additional support was provided by a grant from the Minnesota Board of Water & Soil Resources. Click here to view. The purpose of our plan is to provide the lake associations, property owners, and resource management agencies with a strategic and comprehensive approach to improving water quality in the lakes as well as to enhance our quality of life.
